'Eve Of Destruction' is a tribute to the Australian, ARVN, U.S., NVA and 'Vietcong' soldiers who fought and died in Vietnam, and also to the Vietnamese people. The game originally has been a free modification for EA/Dice's Battlefield series and was published in 2002. 12 years after it's first release the game was completely rebuilt and received it's own engine based upon Unity 3D game engine and multiplayer on Photon Cloud. |

While the story doesn’t reach the cinematic heights of Among Thieves , it delivers all the hallmarks of the franchise: witty banter, treacherous climbing sequences, and explosive set-pieces. Bend Studio successfully compressed the “Uncharted formula” into a handheld format without sacrificing the core experience. The pacing is brisk, and the inclusion of collectible “treasures” (many utilizing the Vita’s touchscreen for detailed inspection) adds significant replay value. From a technical standpoint, Golden Abyss is a miracle. The game runs on a modified version of the Naughty Dog engine, and it shows. Character models, lighting, and environmental detail punch far above the Vita’s weight class. The use of the OLED screen (on the original 1000 model) makes the lush jungles and sun-drenched ruins pop with a vibrancy that even some PS3 games struggled to match.
If you own a Vita and love cinematic platformers, do yourself a favor: dig up this golden relic. Just be prepared to wipe the mud off your screen.
