Optimat 2550 May 2026

While Optimum produces a range of industrial machinery (drills, saws, mills), the Optimat series represents their commitment to high-performance woodworking. The 2550 model, in particular, has gained a reputation as a "bridge" machine—offering more power and capacity than a hobbyist unit, yet being more accessible than full-scale industrial planers. It is important to note that the "Optimat 2550" is often historically linked to, or confused with, the famous Kity 2550 (a French brand). For years, Optimum produced machines under license or based on legacy designs from European manufacturers like Kity and Robland. The Optimat 2550 evolved from this lineage, taking the robust cast-iron construction of its predecessors and updating it with modern safety features and motor technology.

In the world of professional joinery and cabinet making, the combination planer-thicknesser (often called a "planer-thicknesser" or "jointer-planer") is a cornerstone machine. Among the respected names in this mid-to-heavy duty segment stands the Optimat 2550 , a model produced by the German-based company Optimum Maschinen . optimat 2550
