Easy, Maya thought. She’d played a hundred survival games. Chop tree, get wood, build box. Boring. But as she directed her avatar inland, something was different. The sounds —the crunch of leaves wasn't a stock audio file. It was layered, almost wet. The shadows didn't just move with the sun; they breathed , coiling around the trunks of ancient oaks.
