Suddenly, a book fell off a nearby shelf, landing with a loud thud. Alex spun around, their heart racing. That's when they saw it: a piece of paper, slipped between the bookshelves, with a cryptic message scrawled on it: "Hey, Alex," Emily said, her voice barely above a whisper
"They're watching. Don't trust anyone."
Rumors had been circulating about a mysterious figure lurking in the library's stacks. Some said it was a ghost, the spirit of a former student who had died on campus. Others claimed it was a prankster, hiding in the shadows to scare unsuspecting freshmen. This was more than just a prank
Emily hesitated, glancing around the library nervously. "I saw someone arguing with one of the professors. It was a few nights ago, in one of the study rooms. They were talking about something in hushed tones, but I caught a few words... 'the artifact'... 'hidden'... ' Elmwood's secret'."
As they pressed Emily for more information, the library's lights began to flicker. The air grew colder. And Alex couldn't shake the feeling that they were being watched.
