The wallpaper flickered—Windows 11, then 10, then 7, then an old XP blissful green hill he hadn't seen in fifteen years.
Leo looked at his hands. Scars from a bike crash at twelve were gone. A tattoo from a drunken night in college—faded, regretful—had vanished from his wrist. But so had his daughter's first scribbled drawing from his wallet. So had the hard-learned lessons from every corrupted backup he'd ever fixed.
