Kaelen sat alone in a cave of black obsidian, a hundred miles from the nearest town. His skin was the color of ash, crisscrossed with veins of pulsing violet light—the mark of the Rift-Curse he had absorbed to save them. He hadn’t turned traitor. He had volunteered. The Lich King’s final curse was a death-spell that would have turned the Radiant Five into mindless ghouls.
