Introduction: When Counter-Strike Became Survival Horror In the mid-2000s, a mod changed Counter-Strike 1.6 forever. The Zombie Mod stripped players of their familiar bomb/defuse objectives and replaced them with a primal fight for survival. At the heart of this mod were the ZM maps —custom-designed arenas that transformed a tactical shooter into a panic-driven horror experience.
