Now that we are 40-something, we are building our own Dreamhouses. They might have clutter and laundry piles, but they have love. We might not fit into her pink corvette, but we are comfortable in our minivan.

That is a metaphor for the 40s.

Now, at 40-something, we have a different relationship with our bodies. We are softer, wiser, and less tolerant of that kind of nonsense. We love the vintage aesthetic of Barbie, but we are thrilled that our daughters now have Barbies with different body types, skin tones, and wheelchairs.
